The days of Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial are over.

Whether you supported Johnny or Amber, let’s get over it. Because now it’s time for something new.

And if it has Johnny in it, it’s gotta be huge.

This time, his art collection and its sale are stealing the limelight. Just with one Instagram post.

As I write this, the Instagram post is only 20 hours old. Johnny posted a picture of himself with his artwork with the caption “NOW AT #CASTLEFINEART” to his 27 million Instagram followers.

That’s it.

Consequences:

  • The website of Castle Fine Art crashed multiple times
  • All the prints were marked as “out of stock” by Thursday evening. (All the artworks got sold within hours)
  • It all ends with Johnny Depp making $3.5 mn off his artwork within hours

Depp's collection of prints called “Friends & Heroes” included the artworks of Bob Dylan, the late actress Elizabeth Taylor, actor Al Pacino and Rolling Stone’s Keith Richards. It is “a testament to those he has known well and others who have inspired him as a person.”

The gallery’s article quoted Johnny: “My paintings surround my life, but I kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit themselves.

Though he is popular for his acting, art and music have a home deep within him, and often act as a pathway to channel his creativity.

And now he is venturing into them one by one, it seems.

Okay, that’s not news.

But hell, Johnny’s fans are just literally crazy. Not any less than BTS’ ARMY, I should say. Be it the case of Dior, the brand that stuck by Johnny’s side through his defamation case, or the live viewership of the trial on YouTube.

Everything is setting new records.

Dior sold a bottle of Depp's fragrance every 3 seconds. (Poor Disney!)
The trial’s live concurrent viewership peaked at 3.5 million on YouTube.

And now with this artwork sale, Johnny is not breaking the streak.
